When I started to golf I often saw a guy on the range doing funky moves.
First I giggled to my self and simply started hitting balls. Later after talking to him he told me that all this throwing his arms around into every direction was his warm up routine.

Which was the first time I started to think about warming up myself on the range. Hands down do you warm up? You should. Don’t be as ignorant as I was and laugh at people warming up with some effort.
They are probably taking the whole thing more seriously than I did. If you are warming up do it properly at least. Don’t think that some half assed stretches do you any good.
When I took my warming up more seriously my training started to be more effective and felt better immediately. [clearboth]
The Golf Warm Up Routine
As always in golf try to think in a routine to help you getting into the groove.
During my routine I focus mainly on my legs, arms and shoulders. First I start with stretching my arms and legs. Then I put a club behind my back and do a couple of twists and some arm circles.
Then I do some squats and hamstring stretches to warm up my legs a little. Finally I swing a club with a weighted donut for some minutes.
My whole routine takes about 10 minutes and I never hit a ball while doing it.
Sometimes I get those giggles that I used to do from other people.
But when I see them shanking their first shot and my balls sour through the sky I know that those 10 minutes were time well spend.
So don’t be ignorant. Warm up properly. Develop your own routine. There are no excuses!
